WORKERS at a plant and tool hire firm replaced Christmas greetings with donations to Operation Covert during the festive season.
The 17-strong staff at Hire It! in Worcester Road, Kidderminster, made contributions to the appeal instead of sending each other Christmas Cards and raised £200.60.
Director, Fiona Davies, said: "Many of our employees went to Rhydd Covert when they were younger or now have children going there and we feel it is a valuable facility for young people."
In fact, her son, Chris, now 25, progressed through the Scout movement from Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to Venture Scouts and she believes it was an important factor in his early years.
She added: "He learned important skills and I'm sure it helped a lot to set him up for adult life. He is now working with young people himself.
"Rhydd Covert can really help youngsters to foster a love of the outdoors."
l Hire It! also sold Operation Covert stickers and badges from its Kidderminster premises during the year and raised an additional £31 for the appeal.
