ROUND Tablers have given Operation Covert a cash boost, with the help of generous Bewdley residents.
Bewdley Round Table members toured the district with their traditional Santa sleigh over the Christmas period and collected £2,077 in donations from well-wishers.
The group will plough the money back into the community in a variety of ways and £250 has been despatched to our appeal to rebuild the Rhydd Covert activity centre.
Table vice-chairman, Steve Glaister, said: "We are keen supporters of the Scout and Guide movements and as Rhydd Covert is on the edge of Bewdley we felt it was a good project for us to be involved in.
"Many young people from Bewdley are among those who benefit from the centre and we hope our donation helps the appeal edge a little closer to its target."
