SIR - After reading about certain people not wanting to offend other cultures by putting up Christmas lights, singing carols or changing the names of nursery rhymes, I would just say that immigrants, not Britons, must adapt.
I am tired of this nation worrying about offending some individual or minority culture.
However, the dust from terrorist attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct" crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, but the idea of Great Britain being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Britons we have our own culture, society, language and lifestyle.
This country has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who cherish their freedom. Our language is English and anyone wishing to live here should learn the language.
