SIR - This present government's policy on free public transport for all pensioners over 60 is an absolute disgrace. If you live within the West Midlands conurbation, you travel on buses and trains without having to pay anywhere.
I appreciate what MP Michael Foster has achieved, but we are miles away from having a level playing field for the over 60s in this country
According to the Government's latest projections, the cost would be about £900m for all the over 60s to have free travel throughout the UK. Are we asking for to much when millions of us have worked our guts out for 50 years or so and have contributed to this so called wonderful economy of ours? Give me a break Tony Blair. New Labour is now becoming tired and full of fat cats.
