A GREAT grandmother was reunited with three old friends to celebrate her 108th birthday.
Beatrice Richards, thought to be the oldest person in Worcestershire, enjoyed her special day with a visit by the trio, who she knew from Cradley Baptist Chapel in the Black Country but had not seen for about 20 years.
Other friends and daughter, Daphne Knight, also popped into Holmwood Care Centre, Kidderminster, yesterday and a family tea party is also planned.
The Cradley Heath-born pensioner puts her longevity down to having done a lot of walking when she was younger, never smoking and not drinking alcohol.
Mrs Knight said her mother seemed quite surprised about age and, although she could not be certain, believed she was the oldest in the county.
