ROGER Cole, one of the longest established structural engineering consultants in Worcester, has sold his practice to Bridgnorth firm Mark Dady Associates.
Mr Cole, who has worked from Worcester for the last 18 years, latterly under the name of Dossor Cole, says he has reached an amicable agreement with some familiar faces.
"I am at the stage of my career where I am looking towards retirement, and have been considering my exit strategy for some time," he said.
"When I was approached by Mark Dady it seemed ideal, since I have known Mark and his staff for years."
In fact, the deal has a certain symmetry, since Mark Dady was employed in Worcester during the 1980s with the Peter Blackham Partnership. He left in 1991 to start his own Practice in Bridgnorth at the same time that Dossor Cole and Dossor Blackham were born out of mergers with another Worcester firm.
One of Mark's old work colleagues, Mike Speak, also worked for Dossor Blackham before joining Mark Dady associates as an associate in August 2004.
He now returns to Worcester to run the new office in conjunction with Roger Cole, who is staying on as an employee.
Mark Dady said: "I am very excited about finalising the purchase of Dossor Cole. Our two companies were entirely compatible in the way they were run and the type of work we do.
"For all intents and purposes, this will simply be a name change from Dossor Cole to Mark Dady Associates and all new and existing clients will continue to receive the same high level of prompt and friendly structural engineering advice."
The new company will trade under the name of Mark Dady Associates from the old Dossor Cole offices at Restdale House, 32-33 Foregate Street, Worcester Tel 01905 21612, as well as from Bridgnorth.
Mark Dady work on projects of all sizes - from lintels in house extensions to multi million pound commercial developments. It also includes an architectural service.
