I FIND Blairs' New Labour policy of choices for everything public, overwhelming. So much so that they won't get my vote again. Why? Because I am having nightmares about it.
I was discussing my latest nightmare at the breakfast table, this morning. I found myself in a semi conscious situation and a paramedic, looking very much like Patricia Hewitt hovering over me, asking me which hospital I preferred. I was trying to tell her Italy, France, Germany, India, but no words would come out; no sound; The hospitals she mentioned, I had not heard of before and were hundreds of miles away it seemed!
The nightmare continued and I was in a sweat. When I arrived at the hospital, I was met by a man in blue overalls, who looked like Blair. I was thinking of my family and panicked, only to find I had been taken to the worst hospital and had been in there for what is called, neurosis, brought about by the fear of having to choose a hospital out of four selections. I then heard my wife shouting breakfast is ready and I knew it was only a nightmare .... For now?
