AFTER reading a letter from Leslie Ford concerning the amount of litter on our roads, I would like to suggest he and other drivers do what we have been doing for years.
I hang a carrier bag from the glove compartment and all litter is placed in it, as and when it fills up the whole bag and contents is put into the dustbin and a new bag installed. I also taught my children that it was unacceptable to drop sweet papers etc in the street, these were always put into their pockets and disposed of at home. If children are taught from an early age it soon becomes a way of life. If everyone did their bit then our countryside would be so much cleaner.
