Alcester 21,
Evesham U-11 26pts
FOR the first outing after the festive break, the youngsters started where they left off following the win against Exiles before Christ-mas.
Evesham were strong in the scrummage, competed in the line-out and challenged for every loose ball all over the field and this quickly led to the opening score for Ben Capaldi.
Jack Hughes added two converted tries before half-time with Alcester crossing the line once to make it 19-7 at half-time.
A slow start to the second half saw Alcester take a 21-19 lead but the visitors then really took the game to their opponents with some great driving runs from player of the match Kieran Court.
Jake Barnett dominated the back of the line-out, while Sion Roberts and Josh Sands moved the ball well at the base of the scrum giving Jack Hughes and Marcus Bailey quick ball to attack the Alcester defence.
The final score came from a kick and chase by Hughes who tackled the catcher on the line, ripped the ball from his arms and touched down to seal a 26-21 success.
