SIR - My new year's resolution last year was to pick up every piece of change I found lying in the street. I collected a total of £1.03p.
I calculated it took me two minutes 28 seconds to collect this sum, which amounts to £25 per hour or, based on a 40-hour week, £52,112 per annum. Given the current pension crisis, I intend to spend more time picking up change when I retire.
CHRIS BROWN,
Worcester.
