CELEBRATIONS were in order at a Bromsgrove care home when one of its residents reached the grand old age of 102.
Gladys Crook, who is the oldest resident at the Wayside care home in New Road, reached the milestone yesterday (Tuesday) and celebrated with some of her fellow residents.
Gladys has lived at the home since September 2004, having already passed her 100th birthday.
Having previously lived in Aston Fields and Wychbold, Gladys worked as a maid for many years and was also a cook at Rashwood School in Wychbold.
She never had any children, but is regularly visited by her nieces and nephews.
Care home manager Pam Andrews said: "Gladys moved here when she was already over 100-years-old and is an incredible lady. She has always been very talkative and is a pleasure to have here as a resident."
