Droitwich sports chiefs have come up with an novel way to help townsfolk win the battle of the bulge - pole-dancing classes!
The exercises normally associated with the more racier gentlemen's clubs have been added to the curriculum at Droitwich Spa Sports and Leisure Centre.
It's all part of three-month makeover which has seen a host of new facilities and amenties opened at the Briar Mill centre.
"We thought we would add some more fun ways of exercising - there is no reason why keeping fit has to be boring," said centre manager Sue Wakenshaw.
The introduction of pole- dancing and urban rebounding, an exercise with the use of trampolines, should prove to be a fun and energetic alternative at the centre.
Two of other main attractions are a cardio lounge and strength area, which were officially opened on Monday, January 2
The expansion of the fitness room has also meant the addition of 20 new pieces of equipment, including the 'Cardio Wave', the very latest in aerobic equipment that is designed to target problem areas around thighs, hips and the bottom.
Also, a new studio is set to be handed over on Monday, January 16, bringing with it a new class timetable that means the existing exercises can benefit from a purpose- built room on the site.
Sue Wakenshaw, said: "We try to make it as easy as possible for people to get into shape and look after themselves."
