GOALSCORING exploits will have to take a back seat for Henry Woods after the youngster secured a place at Worcestershire's Cricket Academy.
The 11-year-old pupil at Simon-de-Montfort Middle School who has scored more than 50 goals for Evesham United's Under-12 side this season will now be concentrating on taking wickets and scoring runs when he starts coaching sessions at the Prince Henry's HS Sports Centre later this month.
Henry went to trials mainly to show off his bowling skills but Under-12 selectors were impressed with his batting form.
The ambitious all-rounder is now hoping to make an even bigger impression in the nets prior to a summer season with Bretforton, where his dad Brett led the senior side back into the Premier Division of the Cotswold Hills League.
