Evesham Utd U-12 1,

Sutton Coldfield 1

HONOURS were even when Eve-sham took on the Midland Junior Premiership leaders.

United started the stronger but went a goal behind against the run of play following a period of sustained pressure on the visitors goal.

Sutton turned up the pressure but were unable to overcome some resolute defending.

The game then started to swing back in Evesham's favour and Sutton were finding it hard to deal with the pace of Henry Woods and Elliot Grady.

While much of the play was directed down the wings through Sam Ford and James Bearcroft, it was Harrison Cot-her who set up the equaliser with Woods converting after his initial shot was parried by the goalkeeper.

UNITED came out on top in last weekend's cup tie despite going a goal down in the first minute.

Sam Ford equalised form an acute angle after James Bearcroft's shot was blocked by the keeper. Henry Woods than put Evesham into the lead when he volleyed in Ford's cross, while Elliot Grady extended the lead after Ivan Masica's shot was parried.

Woods added two more, the first after some fine work by Andrew Powell and Louis Brown and the second after Harrison Cother had rolled the ball across the goal for him to secure his ha- trick.

Pershore pulled another goal back to give them hope before Cother wrapped up the scoring to send Evesham into the semi-finals.

Swindon Village Bowmen A 3,

Badsey Rgrs U-11 3

RANGERS were dealt a cruel blow when the Bowmen levelled with the last kick of Sunday's thrilling contest.

Badsey had a let-off in the first half when the hosts fluffed a penalty but they hit back to score the only goal of the half and take the slenderest of half-time leads.

It took Rangers only a minute to level after the break when James Schembri fired in but Swindon regained the lead from a free-kick.

The goal seemed to spur on the visitors who dominated the rest of the game and goals from Schembri, a superb 25-yard lob, and Alex Trotman looked to have given the visitors the points until the late leveller beat the gallant Dan Lamb.

THERE were goals galore in Saturday's hastily arranged friendly with Rangers only taking control after a first half of 11 goals that left the sides separated by just one at half-time.

Evesham Utd U-13 0,

Bredon Colts Athletico 11

TOM Spiers helped himself to a hat-trick within 11 minutes of the opening whistle as the Colts embarked on a Saturday knockout scoring spree.

A further strike from Scott Bunch and a couple from Nick Hill left Bredon complete command despite Evesham steadying the ship for a short time either side of half-time.

However, Colts came on string towards the finish when Hill completed his hat-trick ahead of further goals from Robbie Jeal and Stuart Dare.

Bredon's excellent all-round display was climaxed by further goals from Joseph Higgens and Dan Brookes.

UNITED turned on the style to record an emphatic victory in the Ron Handy Memorial Cup semi-final.

Ella Parry-Reece led the way in attack with a fine hat-trick and the hosts had a three-goal cushion at the interval.

Peopleton won 4-1 on penalties

PEOPLETON booked a place in the semi-finals of the cup competition after a thrilling shoot-out success.

The visitors were twice behind in normal time but Jake Bartlett in the first half and George Hodgetts in the second netted to take the game into extra-time.

Bredon Colts U-12 4,

Bidford 2 (aet)

BREDON were made to work hard for their cup win that was only decided in extra-time.

A goalless first half was swiftly forgotten when Arran Williams gave Colts the lead but Bidford hit back almost immediately and then took a 2-1 lead.

However, with the full-time whistle looming, Williams smashed in a fantastic equaliser and overtime strikes from George Darling and Jack Gibbs secured Bredon a place in the next round.

UNITED reached the final of the Mercian League Cup and captain Sam Hilton will lead out his side on Sunday, May 7.

Goalkeeper Jack Carter was Eve-sham's player of the match and, after Matthew Abbott had gone close to breaking the deadlock, Leon Napper gave his side the lead in the second half.

Liam Williamson then smashed in a second goal after the restart before United's superiority was confirmed with more pressure that led to Daniel Chapman and Daniel Bowles both coming close to increasing the margin of victory.

Worcester City 2,

Evesham Utd U-16 1

SATURDAY'S Midland Junior Premier League derby proved a fine advert for football at this level.

Joe Smith gave City a first half lead that was cancelled out after the restart when George Lavis levelled with a fine finish from 15 yards.

Pressure on the Evesham goal finally told when, after a succession of corners, Smith nodded in the winner following a Dane Aldington flag-kick.
