PUPILS at Trinity High School have been working with local writer Barrie Wade to promote reading and writing skills and to raise money for charity.
Mr Wade is working with every English group, inspiring students to write poetry.
In return, students and staff are taking part in sponsored reading activities to raise funds for MENCAP and The Alexandra Hospital's League of Friends, the causes Mr Wade supports.
A spokesman said: "We hope to see long-lasting benefits for the students - the publication of a book of the best poetry produced and our students having been encouraged to enjoy reading for pleasure."
