POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 31-year-old man was killed when his car veered off a road and smashed into a tree in Hallow, near Worcester, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Matthew Male, of Catterbutts, Abberley, near Stourport-on-Severn, was heading north on the A443 when he left the road in his blue Rover 825SD saloon and his car hit the tree shortly after 4am.
Fire and ambulance staff attended the incident, along with police, but Mr Male was pronounced dead at the scene.
The A443 was closed until 10.30am on Saturday as a result of the incident. An inquest into Mr Male's death was due to be opened by the Worcestershire coroner today.
Police want to hear from motorists or anyone else who may have seen the collision or the car before the incident.
