WORCESTERSHIRE-based car manufacturer Morgan has unveiled a special model to mark the 70th anniversary of its iconic 4/4.
The firm, based in Malvern, said 142 of the cars would be built between now and November, keeping up the continuous production of the 4/4 which began in 1936.
Each vehicle, individually marked and finished in period style, will have a galvanised steel chassis carrying "coachbuilt" bodywork of aluminium panels over an ash frame.
The limited edition cars, which meet the latest crash and emission standards, will be powered by a 1.8-litre, 125 bhp Ford Duractec engine.
Charles Morgan, a director of the Morgan Motor Company and grandson of its founder, said: "We are really proud to celebrate this anniversary.
"We have made nearly 10,000 4/4s over the years.
"The fact that we have kept the essence and character of the car, while keeping the functionality and safety totally current is a testament to the original design, and the skills and ingenuity of our engineers at the factory in Malvern."
