THE Christmas Celebration at the village hall on December 20 was well attended and raised £130 for the local Salvation Army Christmas appeal and ARCOS.
On New Year's Eve the village hall was the venue for over 40 Revellers and friends to gather for a splendid meal with party hats, streamers etc, followed by dancing, games and entertainment. The evening ended in the traditional way with a sparkling toast to 2006 and Auld Lang Syne.
Thanks to David Murray-Mason who prepared the main course, Mary Rowswell for the starters and all those ladies who provided the delicious puddings and the cheese and biscuits. Congratulations to Geoff Rowswell, Peter and Valerie Flagg and the Revellers committee for organising a most enjoyable and convivial evening. Could this be repeated next year?
An appeal - is there a dog owner/lover who would be willing to look after two sweet-tempered Cavalier King Charles bitches for a week in February? The owners' regular dog minder is no longer able to oblige. Contact Mr and Mrs D Llewellyn on (01684) 560570.
A happy and healthy New Year to all.
