JAZZ maestro Digby Fairweather is set to pull out all the stops in Worcester this month as he puts on a performance at the city's Huntingdon Hall.
Although Digby first formed a band called Dig's Half Dozen back in 1971, he officially began his professional career in 1977 and has since played with the likes of the Midnite Follies Orchestra of Keith Nichols and Alan Cohen.
He has also performed with clarinetist Dave Shepherd and Velvet - a quartet featuring Len Skeat and guitarists Ike Isaacs and Denny Wright.
Since 1982 he has concentrated on his own projects; among them a touring tribute to Nat Gonella, another being the Jazz Superkings with Dave Shepherd and Roy Williams.
The performer has built up a reputation as one of Britain's best-known jazz musicians, working mainly in the Dixieland-mainstream genre, over the years.
He is set to draw capacity crowds at Huntingdon Hall with his blend of Dixieland, jazz-fusion, rhythm and blues and four-part close harmony when he and his band, the Half Dozen, play there at 8pm on Friday, January 13.
Tickets are priced £12 (concessions £11) and are available from the venue's box office on 01905 611427.
