YOUNGSTERS shaped up for the New Year at a street dance and musical theatre workshop in Upton.
Local dance teacher Ida Edman organised the two-day workshop at The Hill Centre last week.
Nearly 30 children learned dance routines and even some basic acrobatics in groups aged six to 12 and 13 plus.
Miss Edman runs similar events during school holidays throughout the year.
"All the children enjoyed the chance to do something a bit different over Christmas," she said.
"The workshops are always very popular and the children seem to love them."
Many of the children who attend the workshops are members of regular dance classes that Miss Edman runs at Upton Memorial Hall.
However, she stressed the workshops were open and suited to young people of any experience or ability.
"We often see new faces and the events are open for anyone that wants to come and have some fun," she said.
