I was somewhat relieved to read T M Harris's letter (Your Letters, December 23) reference his wife having a problem with obtaining further supplies of black rubbish bags from Malvern Hills District Council.
I did think it was only me that had been dealt with quite abruptly by a 'voice' telling me of this bloody-minded system of allocating one bag per week per household, and when they run out buy your own, but not from us!
With a household of five, sometimes six, people this is neigh on impossible to do, no matter how much you recycle. My black bag supply will not last the year. Surely as we pay over the odds council tax in Malvern (an argument for another day), we should be able to have more bags provided.
People I know, not to far away in a neighbouring county, also have their bottles collected every other week as part of their recycling scheme by their local authority and are a little bemused at our council's tight attitude.
Can someone from MHDC please tell me what do I do with my rubbish once all my bags have gone?
