A DUMMY bomb was found on Hollybed Street Common, near Castlemorton, by a woman using a metal detector she was given for Christmas.
After the Bomb Disposal Squad established it was not dangerous, the device - believed to be a Second World War practice bomb - was taken away.
The woman reported her find to police on Wednesday (January 4), after digging up the bomb, which was filled with concrete.
Upton beat manager PC Mark Taylor attended the scene.
"Anyone who comes across a similar bomb shouldn't touch it, but should call the police straight away," he said.
"Although this one was harmless, there can be occasions when bombs filled with phosphorous or explosives are found."
