GRAHAM Turner insists his decision to off-load winger Jon Brady to Cambridge United was made to benefit both Hereford United and the player.
Australian Brady was failing to hold a regular first-team place at Edgar Street and the 30-year-old also had problems commuting to training from his Northampton home.
"Travelling affects some, but not others," said Turner. "In Jon's case, he was travelling a long way and this move will benefit him.
"Cambridge came in for him and he's been sat on the bench for the last few games, so I thought it was an appropriate time for Jon to move on. He needed a change."
Cambridge boss Rob Newman was delighted to secure the former Chester and Stevenage midfielder.
Newman said: "He's won the Conference twice, been in-volved with a successful Hereford side and he's an experienced player.
"We've taken over Brady's contract for the rest of the season and we're already tentatively looking towards next season."
