MALVERN Town have been awarded the Harvey World Travel Midland Alliance team of the month award for December.
Malvern enjoyed 100 per cent success in December winning a Worcestershire Senior Urn tie on December 7 at Lye Town 4-1, followed by four league games. They scored 15 goals and conceded just two in the five matches.
It is the first time that league leaders Malvern, who are in just their second season in the Midland Alliance, have lifted the award.
They defeated Alvechurch 5-0 at home on December 10 and won 2-0 away at high-riding Barwell on December 13. A hard-earned 1-0 away victory at mid-table Boldmere St Michaels was followed by a 3-1 win at Langland Stadium against Westfields on Boxing Day.
Malvern can also boast 100 per cent league records in September and October, although those months included defeats in the second qualifying rounds of the FA Cup and the FA vase.
Previous winners of the Moldwel Products-sponsored team of the month award this season are: August - Leamington; September - Romulus; October - Chasetown; November - Racing Club Warwick.
The award is scheduled to be presented to Malvern Town by league officials prior to their home match against Loughborough Dynamo next Saturday (January 14).
