A lucky woman has walked away with a necklace worth £250 after winning a Worcester News competition.
June Harford, of Lower Wick, near Worcester, won the opal jewellery after entering the contest, run in conjunction with an exhibition of fine opals held at jeweller W H Peplow, High Street, Worcester, in November 2005.
Mrs Harford received her prize from Peplow's manager Joanne Bourne.
The exhibition included exotic black opals, the rarest stone of the opal family rarely seen outside of Australia, and the 157 carat Aquarian Dawn opal, which is worth £1.5m.
Joanne Bourne, manager of Peplows, said: "All the stones on show were on sale. Some were set into bracelets or necklaces while others were loose stones."
