COMMUNITY representatives are needed in a bid to improve the quality of life on the east side of Kidderminster.
Partners and Communities Together - PACT - meetings form the backbone of a new Government-led initiative called Local Policing, which will see teams of officers dedicated to specific areas tackling local issues at a local level together with partners and members of the community.
PACT membership comprises police, local authorities, partner agencies and key community members.
Police and partner organisations are looking for residents from the east side of Kidderminster - including Greenhill, Broadwaters, Comberton, Offmore and Spennells - who are interested .
Meetings have already been held in Bewdley and Redditch and PACT will be extended to other parts of Worcestershire in the early part of 2006.
Sgt Kevin Lane, of Kidderminster police, said: "PACT aims to improve the quality of life and tackle crime.
"We need to get a cross-section of the community to represent the area by working with officers and our partners, such as Wyre Forest District Council and Wyre Forest Community Housing."
Anyone interested should contact the Kidderminster East Local Policing Unit on 08457 444888.
