THE Christmas message of giving was felt by all at Brompton house residential home in Broadway during the festive period.
Pupils from St Mary's RC first school spent an afternoon singing Christmas carols to residents at the care home while the teachers were presented with a cheque for £600.
Residents at the care home raised £600 by holding funding raising events throughout the year and donated £300 each to the two schools in Broadway; St Mary's and Broadway First School.
BUPA, the private health care provider, decided to match the money raised by Brompton house residents for each school.
Denise Oats, head teacher of St Mary's said: "We were delighted when we found out that we were receiving £600 from Brompton house and it just so happened that it coincided with the children performing on Monday.
"We're all really pleased with the money and hope to be able to sing carols at Brompton house next year."
Pupils aged between seven and 11 sang traditional Christmas carols such as Silent night and Away in a Manger along with songs from their nativity play, Brand New Star.
