VISITORS to Bewdley Museum next year will be able to view a 19th century clock, which once kept time for congregations at the town's Baptist Church.
The timepiece was a feature on the balcony of the church in the High Street until it was taken down during alterations in 1994.
Rev Keith Judson, who has presented the clock to the museum, said: "It has been in the care of a local repairer since that time and earlier this year we decided it would be a good idea to give it to Bewdley Museum so people could see it."
It was made by Joseph Young, who was from a well known Bewdley family of clockmakers with premises in High Street, Load Street and Severnside North between 1828 and 1864.
Councillor Nathan Desmond, Wyre Forest District Council's cabinet member for community and leisure services, said: "The museum is about keeping our local history alive and the clock is an excellent example of how it can help preserve a bit of our past.
"We are looking forward to putting it on display next season and would welcome people's memories and stories about it."
The museum re-opens on Saturday, March 25.
