FOR those who have been watching Strictly Come Dancing and have been inspired by Darren Gough on the dance floor some new and fun dance classes are starting around Worcestershire in January.
Dance at 8's new beginners' social ballroom class starts tomorrow at Wulstan Hall in Priest Lane, Pershore (7.30pm). Dances include the waltz, foxtrot and quickstep. Cost is £3.50 a session and can be paid on the night.
Children who want to dance like their favourite pop stars can join the Video Pop Stars class. They will learn choreographed routines in the style of the likes of Britney Spears, Rachel Stevens and Busted. Cost is £3.50 per session and the classes are the Wulstan Hall, beginning tomorrow at 6.30pm.
A Sizzling Samba class for absolute beginners is also being offered. The classes are from 7-8pm starting next Monday at the Christopher Whitehead School, Worcester St Johns, and will run for six weeks.
All ages are welcome, singles or couples and the cost is £3.50 per person per week, pay on the night.
There is also a new Cuban-style mix-and-match singles hour at the same venue for singles who want to go on the dance floor but do not have a dance partner.
For wannabe lindy dancers a class takes place in the New Year. This is Hollywood-style lindy as in the 1940s Hollywood movies, and the class is for for absolute beginners.
