ONCE again the people of Pershore and District have been more than generous in their response to the Poppy Appeal. This year they have donated £10,267.75 which is the most that this branch of The Royal British Legion has ever received. We are most grateful to them.
I would like to thank branch members who participated, the house-to-house collectors, supermarkets, shops, schools and public houses for their support. My thanks also to church congregations, supporters of social events and those who made donations for wreaths and participated in the ceremony at the War Memorial in Pershore Abbey on Remembrance Sunday. It is most gratifying to know that in these very troubled times the meaning of the Poppy has not been forgotten.
PHILIP J CUMMINS, Poppy Appeal Organiser, RBL Pershore and District Branch.
