A champion slimmer from Worcester who overcame obesity and lost 12 stone in two years is offering to help others who want to shed the pounds.
Clayton Smith, aged 35, from Great House Road, St John's, is preparing to be a consultant for Slimming World - the organisation which helped him to cut his weight in half.
The trim Clayton, who became Mr Slimming World in March and has maintained his target weight of 12.5st since, will be running a slimming group at Perdiswell Primary School from tomorrow.
The businessman, who runs a double glazing firm, will be using a full size cardboard cut-out of himself at his heaviest to help demonstrate what people can achieve.
"I'm hoping to help others. I'm hoping to be an inspiration. I've got a full size cut-out of how I was two years ago. Then people can see what is possible. I had a 50in waist - now it's 30in."
The weekly 90-minute sessions at Perdiswell are open to all comers - whether they want to lose a few pounds or several stones. They start at 7pm and people can either turn up on the night or ring Clayton for further information on 07737142575. Clayton, who was inspired to get a grip on his weight problem because he wanted to be able to do more activities with his two year-old daughter Abbie, says life is so much better without the flab.
"It is fantastic. Just being able to do the simple things with Abbie is great. I can chase after her when we go to the park and I can go up and down ladders at work without worrying now."
