A COUPLE were brutally attacked as they walked home from a new year's eve party.
The man and woman were walking through Arrow Valley Park and had just turned into Huntingdon Close in Matchborough at about 1.30am when they were set upon by two youths.
The woman was punched in the mouth and needed several stitches. The man was also punched twice in the face and has a suspected broken nose and bruising.
Pc Neil Sharp, of Redditch police, said: "At this time we have not established any motive for this assault. We believe there were two witnesses who walked past when the couple were being assaulted and I would ask them to contact me."
The first youth was white, aged between 16-20, of stocky build and about 5ft 8ins tall. He had short dark hair and a chubby face and was wearing a black padded jacket and dark jeans. He spoke with a Midlands accent.
The second man was also white, 6ft 2ins tall, of slim build and with dark hair. He was wearing light clothing.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 08457 444888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
