FOLLOWING a flurry of complaints regarding the constant failure of street lighting in the Appletrees Crescent, Grange Park, Bromsgrove, and some of the smaller roads off, I contacted the developers via the Highways Partnership.
Apparently the roads on the estate have still not been brought up to the required standard to enable the county council to adopt them and assume responsibility for the upkeep, including the street lights.
Similar attempts have been made in the past on a number of occasions but the developers appear very reluctant to get on with the job.
It appears that they only react to bad publicity and constant badgering by the householders and the residents' local representatives. I would therefore strongly recommend that residents, and I certainly intend to do so myself, simply make ourselves a nuisance and force the estate builders into some action.
To enable you to do this you can contact Mark Oddy of Laing Homes on 01926 331200 or Mark Ainsworth of Wimpeys on 01543 496759. The Highways Partnership contact is Steven Hawley on Bromsgrove 881393.
