KIDDERMINSTER Harriers skipper Mark Jackson is on the wanted list of Conference rivals York City.
Managerless Harriers have fielded an enquiry from York boss Billy McEwan about the 28-year-old centre-half who has only missed one game for the club this season.
The transfer window is open for the whole of January and although Jackson's contract runs until the end of the season, he is believed to be one of the higher earners at cash-strapped Kidderminster.
McEwan said: "Mark Jackson is one of a number of players we have inquired about and we will just have to see what happens on that one."
Top scorer Iyseden Christie, who has netted 13 goals, is believed to be attracting the interest of Coca-Cola League clubs too. His contract also runs up to the summer.
Harriers, who slipped to 17th in the table with Monday's 3-0 defeat at Altrincham, have already lost forward Taiwo Atieno who decided against extending his loan deal from Walsall.
And the club are no closer to appointing a new manager after sacking Stuart Watkiss four weeks ago. A board meeting is scheduled for tomorrow to draw up a shortlist of candidates.
