BARNT Green ended a hectic seasonal Christmas list on a high by defeating Shifnal 1-0 in the Midland Combination Premier Division on Monday, January 2.
Victory meant that Spartak won two out of their three matches over Christmas, defeating Alveston 3-0 on Tuesday, December 27 and losing to Feckenham 2-1 on New Year's Eve.
The results mean that Spartak are still hot on the heels of leaders Atherstone and second placed Coventry Sphinx.
Against Alveston striker Kevin Brookes bagged a hat trick to get their festive fixtures off to a good start.
Brookes has been in sparkling form for Barnt Green since joining from Oldbury in October, scoring nine goals in the same amount of matches.
On Saturday, Spartak were stunned by Worcestershire rivals Feckenham at Lye Meadow, going down 2-1, despite Michael Campbell's consolation goal.
Barnt Green bounced back though two days later when they edged Shifnal 1-0, with Shaun Williams scoring.
Green return to action in the Premier Division on Saturday, January 7, when they play Meir KA away from home.
