WITH reference to the photograph and article on page five of the Advertiser/Messenger on December 21 entitled 'Lucky escape for Spa motorist.'
These pictures were taken in my presence only a few feet from the photographer. Being the vehicle driver and, the last time I looked, definitely a male, so I wonder where did your reported female come from?
We doubt that the police confirmed the driver was female. The forms they produced were filled in and signed by me.
The lady involved was my wife and was sitting in the front passenger seat. She was rescued from the car by firefighters. The paramedics took her to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital where a broken wrist, minor glass cuts and some bruising were treated. Without doubt she was saved from more serious injury by wearing a seat belt.
We would wish to thank the emergency services - they were superb. Some bus passengers also helped, one especially spent time talking and comforting my wife through the window. We think this lady worked for Ladbrokes - thanks love and we trust your employer accepted your reasons for being a trifle late for work. Many thanks to you all.
