A VILLAGE school is celebrating after coming top of the class in its Ofsted report.
The report said Stoke Prior First School, in Ryefields Road, is a very welcoming community that highly valued the contribution of each pupil and adult.
Educational standards in the national tests were consistently above average and pupils across the school, from foundation stage to year four, made good progress with many achieving challenging targets.
The report also praised the pupils' personal development, behaviour and positive attitudes to work. Headteacher Jan Evans said: "The report is very positive and describes the school as a successful one which does not rest on its many achievements.
"We are delighted with this judgement and are deservedly proud of our school."
