THE prospect of another takeaway in Studley Road, Lodge Park, is concerning residents who believe it will result in even more antisocial behaviour and litter.
Developers have applied to Redditch Council to build a retail development on the site of the former Lodge Park Service Station.
Permission was granted but with the condition it would include only two shops and a veterinary surgery. However, the developers also want a takeaway so have appealed to the Planning Inspectorate.
Resident Keith Biggs said: "The people of Barlich Way, Studley Road and Shakespeare Avenue already have enough to put up with - with antisocial behaviour and litter from the existing facilities.
"Another takeaway will make the situation intolerable."
Residents are being backed by Lodge Park ward councillor Mark Shurmer.
He said: "The planning committee has already considered this issue and has placed restrictions on what can be developed. Another hot food takeaway will be unacceptable and a petition will be sent to the Planning Inspectorate to show how strongly local people feel about this."
Objections should be sent to The Planning Inspectorate, Room 34/04, Kite Wing, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol BS1 6PN by January 12.
