MANY people will have overindulged this Christmas, so a charity which helps hundreds of Redditch people each year is offering a way of making amends in the new year.
For anyone planning to give up alcohol for a month or longer as a part of their 2006 resolutions, the Primrose Hospice and Cancer Help Centre has a solution which will help participants improve their own health while giving to others.
The hospice has launched its "Give up a Pint for Primrose" campaign whereby every time someone feels like a pint of beer or glass of wine they choose a soft drink instead and put the money they saved into a Primrose box.
Lorraine Hart, Primrose fundraising manager, said: "Most of us start the year with good intentions.
"If you have a box in front of you, perhaps you will think twice about having a drink and make a donation to Primrose instead.
"Local pubs and gyms are welcome to request a box to put on their bar."
Give up a Pint for Primrose boxes are available by calling the fundraising department on 875444.
