FOOD for Thought was the title of a fascinating talk by Hector Sutherland.
Mr Sutherland described life in Elizabethan England, with particular reference to Elizabeth I's stay at Charlecote Park in 1572.
He explained how the monarch and her 400-strong entourage were entertained, wined and dined.
The next talk, On a Wing and a Prayer, will be presented by Keith Cattell at 8pm on Wednesday, January 11 at the Greig Centre.
Mediaeval cathedrals were the skyscrapers of their day, pushing stone technologically to its limits. The retired architect will trace the techniques and skills used by cathedral builders from the 4th to the 20th centuries.
