WORCESTERSHIRE Hounds met in front of Hewell Hall, by special request from the Earl and Countess of Plymouth. A large field was entertained with refreshments before taking cover. In the evening a servants ball was held, concluding a week of festivities at the Hewell estate to mark the coming of age of Viscount Windsor.
A SUCCESSFUL Primrose League smoking concert was held at the Wagon and Horses Inn in Droitwich. The chair was taken by Councillor T Young, who said that all Primrose Leaguers were there to support one cause - the integrity of the empire.
IN Tardebigge, Mr Frederick C Macarness, son of the late Bishop of Oxford and former Vicar of Tardebigge, resigned from his post as Recorder of Newbury, in order to contest the Parliamentary seat in the Liberal interest.
BROMSGROVE Rovers suffered a 5-1 away defeat in treacherous conditions at Kings Norton's Wesleyan's Ground. A Chatwin goal just before half time and a fine defensive display from Stiles could not spare Rovers' blushes.
