STICK skills will be on show in middle schools around the town this month, thanks to hockey sessions run by Redditch Council.
Action Sports, the council's sport development unit, has teamed up with Redditch Hockey Club to promote hockey, providing top coaches to middle schools across Redditch. It is hoped the sessions will allow children to enjoy hockey at school, before they go on to join the Bromsgrove Road-based club.
Vicci Webley, sports development officer for Redditch Council, said: "It was great to see so many young people playing the game of hockey, hopefully some of the children will now go on to join the local club and take up the sport."
Coaching sessions start on Wednesday, January 18 from 4.30-6pm and are open to seven to 17-year-olds. They cost £1 for non-Reddicard holders, or 50p with a Reddicard.
