RADAR'S first league Worcester League division one points of the season were won last Sunday when they overcame visitors St Johns at Victoria Park.
MALVERN RADAR 3, ST JOHNS 1
The previous weekend's game against Bedwardine was a real thriller, this was right at the other end of the entertainment scale, dour to say the least.
Both teams struggled to play any real enterprising football with all the goals coming in the final 20 minutes. Dan Marston and Paul Briggs had glaring misses for the visitors. The best chance for Radar fell to Ady Osbourne, who blasted over from eight yards.
Radar took the lead on 70 minutes when Jason Lloyd picked out Scott Senter, who calmly lobbed the ball over advancing keeper Damien Weston. Radar went looking for a second goal only for Saints to equalise with a fine breakaway. Churchill's corner was cleared to Chris Colley who broke down the right before crossing the ball to Clive Jones, who had run 70 yards from his own box. His fine left-foot shot flew into the bottom corner of the Radar goal.
Radar took the lead from their next corner when Darren Loader scored easily from a close range header and Senter added the third in the closing stages.
This Sunday, Radar are away to Reality Rangers, players meet RSRE Club 9.30am.
