POWICK maintained their excellent form in this Worcester Sunday League division one fixture and kept up the pressure on league leaders Bedwardine.

POWICK 6, MARTLEY SPURS RES 0

The wet condition of the pitch made passing difficult and Powick were on the back foot for the first ten minutes of the game. Following a short corner routine between Hadley and Collard, the latter crossed for Tim Lambeth to net the opening goal for Powick.

The second goal arrived shortly after from a fantastic break by Phil Skilton, whose piledriver was turned away by the goalkeeper only for Lambeth to net again.

Right on the stroke of half-time Lambeth grabbed his second hat-trick in two weeks with a neat finish.

Manager Mike Burton made three second-half changes though Powick continued to push forward. Ben Pearson scored the goal of the game with a neat header following several passes.

Credit to Martley as they never gave up and continued to play neat football in the midfield, but the attacks came to nothing due to the competent defending of Oli Knight and Stu Hart. Two well-taken Drinkwater goals wrapped up the proceedings and despite not being at their best Powick can be well satisfied with the result.

Men-of-the-match were Oli Knight and Tim Lambeth.
