I WOULD like to thank all those involved in making Friday night's switch-on of the Christmas lights in Malvern such a big success, particularly the businesses who contributed to the new star lights and Christmas trees in the town, which helped raise money for the two charities we as a council are supporting this year, namely St Richard's Hospice and the Acorn Children's Trust.
I would also like to express my thanks to the businesses that helped through providing sponsorship for the event.
The number of people who turned up to watch the lights being switched on by Kasia Haddad, Josie Jump from Balamory, provided a fitting tribute to all the effort put in.
COUN RALPH MADDEN, chairman Malvern Town Council, Belle Vue Terrace, Malvern.
