A PLAYGROUP near Malvern is facing closure if a new leader can-not be found.
Things are getting desperate for Pendock Playgroup, which has been searching for a leader for months.
"Our prevous leader left in June last year and despite advertising everywhere we can, we can't find anybody to replace her," said secretary Sam White.
"We'll have to close the playgroup if we can't find anyone. This would be a real blow to the local community, as the playgroup has been around for at least 20 years and has close connections with Pendock School.
"Indeed it's a double blow, as we had a wonderful Ofsted report and have new premises at Pendock School in their lovely new school hall. Previously, the playgroup met at the village hall.
"The toddler group is still operating and these little ones won't have a playgroup to go to."
The successful applicant has to have, or be willing to work for, the Childcare Certificate Level 3. Hours are subject to negotiation.
Anyone interested can contact Ms White on 01531 650573 or the school on 01531 650298.
"It would be a great shame if no-one came forward," said Ms White.
"It really is part of the community and the children go forward straight in to the reception class at the school."
