COLWALL WHC maintained their position at the top on Severn Division One with 6-0 win against Cheltenham Civil Service at Dean Close, Cheltenham on Saturday.
CHELTENHAM CS 0, COLWALL WHC 6
Cheltenham CS almost went ahead in the opening minutes of the game, but were denied by a double save by goal keeper Carole Ward.
This spurred Colwall into action, and Lucy Halligan drove down the right, passed the ball to Jackie Styles, who crossed for Coral Handley to open the scoring.
Nicky Glover maintained her prolific scoring record with reverse stick shot following a Sam Shail cross. Styles then showed good determination in avoiding several defenders before driving the ball into the goal off a Cheltenham CS foot to give Colwall a 3-0 lead at half-time.
Colwall maintained their dominance in the second-half when a sid- line hit by Anna Stocker went to Handley on the top of the goal area. She slipped the ball to Glover to score in the corner.
Colwall went further ahead from a short corner hit out by Lucy Halligan to Glover, who completed her hat-trick with a superb shot.
Colwall finished the game in style when Anna Stocker drove down the right, ran into the goal area and, when everyone was expecting a cross, cunningly slipped the ball past the keeper on the near post.
Colwall's next match will be against Newent at Ledbury Leisure Centre tomorrow (Saturday), starting at 2pm.
