A FANS' group chief be-lieves Worcester City boss Andy Preece could be the man to revitalise Kidderminster Harriers.
Preece, whose contract at St George's Lane ends next summer, was linked with the Harriers hot-seat last Nov-ember before Stuart Watkiss took on the role.
But Watkiss was dismissed from the 15th-placed Conference club on Wednesday and the club are now in dire need of an appointment that could draw back the fans.
Preece's big impact last season catapulted City to within a whisker of the Nationwide North play-offs.
He has since guided them to a money-spinning FA Cup second round tie with Huddersfield this term.
Harriers Independent Supporters Trust chairman Alan Shepherd believes the new man must install an exciting brand of football, despite the financial restrictions.
Droitwich-based Shepherd said: "I would like to see somebody like Andy Preece appointed. As far as attractive football goes, I think he would be a good choice.
"But whoever comes in has got to be a damn good manager on a shoestring budget. He's got to get results and play attractive football to get the fans back.
"I could have seen Stuart's exit coming, either he would have walked or they would sack him.
"He said he would attend a fans' forum, which the supporters want, but obviously the club are not going to have one.
"But I think it was probably more down to results. He was clearly hamstrung by the lack of money. The football has not been pretty but neither was Steve Cotterill's at Cheltenham. However, he got results.
"Graham Allner and Jan Molby used to produce some fantastic football which was good to watch. Watkiss' unfortunately wasn't.
"But I believe Stuart's been as open and honest as possible. He's not been afraid to stand up and talk to people."
Caretaker-manager Martin O'Connor has a massive task for his first match in charge, taking Harriers to Conference leaders Accrington Stanley tomorrow.
