A VALE resident is to appeal against a decision made by Wychavon District Council ordering him to pull down a fence because he failed to apply for planning permission.
Nicholas Mauro, of Lavender Walk, Evesham, is appealing against a recent order made by the council informing him to pull down his fence as it is one metre above the authorised permission granted and faces a highway.
Mr Mauro is appealing on the grounds that the order made by Wychavon is unreasonable and inaccurate.
In a letter sent to the planning authority Mr Mauro said: "On the same estate as the property in question there are numerous properties, which have similar fences in very similar locations. In view of the above it is impossible to understand why they claim the fence is in breach of planning control."
The council considers the fence to be inappropriate to the landscape character of the area because of its scale and position
A date for the hearing is yet to be set.
