A NEW children's centre, being developed at Clifton-upon-Teme Primary School, means families in the Teme Valley no longer have to travel long distances to benefit from support services.
The centre, established with the support of Worcestershire Early Years Service, is co-ordinated by Hilary Higton and children's activity supervisor Rebecca Davies.
Liesle Thomas, who lives near Tenbury, said: 'In the past I've had to travel to Worcester or Kidderminster to find suitable activities for my pre-school children.
"Having the Children's Centre on the doorstep has provided these services locally and allowed my children to socialise within the community"
A toy library carries a range of toys for parents to borrow and 'Leaps and Bounds' from Tumble Tots offers classes to encourage children's physical development and self-confidence
